Red Bay Sunset Lodge
 ...  andros island, bahamas
The appropriately named "Red Bay Sunset Lodge" is a valued partner in Brookings' travel program. What sets this lodge apart from other Bahamian lodges is its location and quality of guides.
Benry Smith, the son of "Crazy Charlie" (a legend in the world of saltwater fly fishing), built RBSL with the intention of putting his guests on better quality fishing with less run time from the dock. You see, all the towns on Andros Island are located on the east coast, because that's where the prevailing winds come from, and its stays cooler, and less buggy. But when you are fly fishing, wind is your nemesis. Benry and his guides found themselves spending a lot of time traveling from the east coast of Andros over to the west coast, where the better fishing was. That's when Benry decided to put the customers, the boats, and the fish all in one place by building Red Bay Sunset Lodge....and he did so with his own two hands.
When spending time at Red Bay sunset lodge you can expect to see very few people since it's one the only structures on the Northwest coastline...in fact you will use 4-wheel drive when getting there. It's a very comfortable experience though, with nice accommodations, top notch guides, and a very charming staff. You will also be treated to some wonderful Bohemian cuisine prepared by Benry's wife, Diane.
The fishing is fabulous, with a good mix of fishing large flats, creeks, and a unique chain of barrier islands called the "Joulters". Average bonefish range from 2 - 6lbs but fish pushing the double-digit mark are not uncommon. Tarpon and Permit are not out of the question either, which is also unique for the Bahamas.
We are headed back in August 2025! We will fly to Andros on August 4th, fish the 5th - 9th, and return home on the 10th.

Montana's Kootenai Country - LADIES WEEK
LINEHAN OUTFITTING COMPANY  ...  Libby, Montana
Montana fly fishing inherently means different things to different people and the destinations are many and varied. Here in Kootenai Country we can honestly offer a different experience. This northwest corner of the state is far less traveled and is more like the Pacific Northwest ecosystem than traditional Big Sky country. It’s green, lush, mountainous, and we’re not exaggerating when we say less crowded. Seriously, we only see a couple other drift boats on the water each day. If we’re fishing remote smaller rivers, we don’t see anyone ... for days.
The Linehan Outfitting Company staff of Montana fly fishing guides are some of the best in the state: "We don’t see ourselves as a means to an end. We want you to learn, to experience facets of the sport you have never encountered before, and to come away from fishing with us with that “wow!” sense of accomplishment. It’s wrong to guarantee lots of fish or lots of big fish every day. Mother Nature does what she wants. Period. But we can guarantee our knowledge and can guarantee that you will be a better angler after you fish with us. And that’s what we believe you’re paying for anyway." - Tim Linehan

 ...  AGUA BOA AMAZON LODGE
Big Peacock Bass on the fly, an abundance of wildlife, great accommodations, and a top-notch staff of guides, cooks, and housekeepers...what's not to love? Oh, there are also NO MOSQUITOES here (the water is too acidic).
This is a true adventure to one of the most remote lodges in the world surrounded by one of the best fisheries in the world. The target species is peacock bass, but you will have an opportunity to cast your fly at a multitude of exotic game fish. The Agua Boa is most famous for its sight fishing opportunities. Sight casting to big, aggressive peacock bass is one of the most exhilarating experiences in the sport of fly fishing. Most peacock bass fisheries are black water rivers where sight fishing is not an option, but here on the Agua Boa it is an everyday experience.
The accommodations are very comfortable double occupancy bungalows with air conditioning, and full bathrooms. After a day on the river, you can cool off in the pool with a cocktail overlooking the Agua Boa River or walk the airstrip to look for more wildlife.

Cast & Blast in Patagonia
PATAGONIA RIVER GUIDES  ...  TREVELIN, ARGENTINA
PRG’s Trevelin area programs are arguably the most sought after in all of Argentina. The area surrounding Trevelin and Esquel offers over two-dozen rivers and the most diverse fishing in all of Argentina. From temperate rainforest in Los Alerces National Park to the arid Patagonia steppe – all within striking distance of The Lodge at Trevelin – the area is a fly fisherman’s dream come true. Since the waters, fishing, and scenery are so distinct, PRG recommends trying their signature “fish a different river daily” program to make the most of the experience. Those that do will enjoy casting flies in every kind of water imaginable and catching a variety of strong wild trout. The area’s rivers boast rainbows, browns, brook trout, and landlocked salmon in their waters.
There is such a wide selection of large rivers, small rivers, spring creeks and lakes in the Trevelin area that anglers can choose to wade or float daily. Guests can also choose and enjoy as much or as little sight fishing, match the hatch dry fly fishing, terrestrial fishing, streamer fishing, and spot nymph fishing, as they wish. Novice as well as the most seasoned anglers will take pleasure in the sophistication of their outfitting and the diversity of the fishing. PRG's talented guides specialize in fishing diverse waters and have the necessary flies and tackle required to change tactics daily, and since each professional guide has an assistant, walk-fishing guests will always enjoy a single guide.
PRG’s Lodge at Trevelin is in the heart of one of the most spectacular mountain valleys in Patagonia. From the lodge, guests can find productive trout streams literally in every direction. PRG is prod to offer the most diverse trout-fishing program in South America complimented with a spectacular lodge designed specifically for the purpose.
In the months March and April there is also the opportunity to take advantage of this region's world class quail hunting with PRG's experienced hunting staff and dogs.
